Delete your Nikah account

How to delete your account and your data, and what happens to each of them.

You can request deletion of your Nikah account and its associated data at any time. There are two ways to do it: from within the app, or by email if you can no longer sign in. You will not be asked to justify your request.

From the app

This is the fastest route: the request is recorded immediately.

  1. Sign in, then open Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Danger zone section at the bottom of the page.
  3. Choose Delete my account, then type your email address to confirm. This confirmation ensures nobody but you can trigger the deletion.

By email

If you no longer have access to your account, write to us from the email address linked to it.

Address: nikah.fr.support@gmail.com
Subject: Delete my account

We process these requests within 30 days at most. If the message does not come from the account's email address, we will ask you to confirm your identity before any deletion.

What happens next

Your account is deactivated immediately: your profile disappears from the catalogue, your exchanges are closed, and you no longer appear to other members. Your data is then permanently deleted within 30 days. Any active subscription is cancelled, with no further charge.

Changed your mind? During those 30 days you can reactivate your account in one click from the link sent to you by email, and you get all of your data back. After that, deletion is irreversible.

What is deleted

At the end of the 30 days, the following are permanently erased:

  • Your profile and every piece of information you entered in it
  • Your account and your sign-in credentials
  • Your favourites, your contact requests and your notifications
  • Your identity document, if it had not already been deleted after your profile was approved
  • Your messages, which are anonymised: their content is permanently separated from your identity

What is retained

Some data survives deletion, for legal or security reasons:

  • Accounting records relating to your payments, retained for as long as our accounting and tax obligations require
  • Technical connection logs (IP address, device fingerprint), retained for a limited period to prevent fraud and the creation of multiple accounts
  • Reports concerning you, retained in minimal form in order to protect other members

Retention periods are detailed in our privacy policy.
