Zero tolerance

Nikah applies zero tolerance towards any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion or any other harm. Any breach leads to the immediate removal of the content, the permanent ban of the account and, where required by law or warranted by the facts, a report to the competent authorities.

An adults-only platform

Minors are not allowed on Nikah. Several structural measures reduce the risk of a minor being present or exposed:

• 18 years minimum: age is required at sign-up and enforced by validation — no profile under 18 can be created.
• Manual review of every profile: no profile is published without being reviewed and approved by a human moderator; identity verification (official ID) is required for men.
• No photos and no media sharing: profiles display no photographs and the messaging feature is text-only — no image, video or file can be shared in the app.
• Supervised matrimonial framework: exchanges take place in a supervised setting, with the involvement of the guardian (wali) for women.

Systematic human moderation

Every message exchanged on the platform is reviewed by a human moderator before being delivered to its recipient. This prior moderation allows us to detect and block any inappropriate content or behaviour — including anything touching on the safety of a minor — before it even reaches another member.

Anyone — member or not — can report to us content, a profile or behaviour that may endanger the safety of a minor:

Measures when a minor's safety is at stake

When CSAE-related content or behaviour is detected or reported, we apply the following procedure:

• Immediate removal of the content concerned and immediate suspension of the account involved;
• Preservation of evidence (content, technical logs, identifiers) for the authorities;
• Reporting to the competent authorities (PHAROS platform and/or public prosecutor) where the facts warrant it;
• Permanent ban of the user, including any linked accounts.

Compliance and cooperation with authorities

Nikah complies with the applicable French and European laws on the protection of minors, including the French Criminal Code and the French Trust in the Digital Economy Act (LCEN), which requires hosting providers to contribute to the fight against the dissemination of child sexual abuse material. We respond to judicial requests following the procedure described in our law enforcement protocol.
